Etsy, Ongoing Shows, Open Studios, and Other News

Spring 2016 has brought a lot of exciting new changes to Oak Grove Press! For one, we have decided to finally embrace the 21st century by joining Etsy. Now you can browse all sorts of handmade goodies from the comfort of your own couch. Check out https://www.etsy.com/shop/OakGrovePress for some new items, such as a Perpetual Calendar , which is guaranteed to make you the most considerate friend/sibling/aunt/uncle/human around.

In other news, Kelsey’s artwork is currently hanging in a couple of different locations in Hood River. Stop by Stoked Roasters + Coffeehouse on the Hood River Waterfront, and The Good Medicine Lounge in the Heights to see her paintings and prints in person.

Next month, Oak Grove Press will be opening its doors for the 10th Annual Gorge Artists Open Studios Tour. From Friday April 22nd - Sunday April 24th, we will be showing people around the studio, leading demos, and talking about art. Maps will be available in businesses around Hood River and Portland; please feel free to contact us for more details.

Lastly, we have been working on all sorts of exciting new projects lately so there are suddenly a bunch of different places that you can find Kelsey's illustrations in the world. The New Livestock Farmer is now out in print, so you can find her animal drawings in a book! Also, we were so honored to work with Sarah Moore Design on some olive oil labels recently, so you can find Kelsey's olive branch illustrations in your grocery store! Or if you're more of a tea drinker, you can find our collaboration with Sunny Sisson of Puddle Jumpin' Cards on the new tea canisters at Good Medicine Enterprises!

Summertime and the livin' is busy!

Now that school is out for the summer, I am diving deep into all sorts of other projects!

Most immediately, I will be painting Toms shoes tonight at Doug's in Hood River (101 Oak Street). The First Fridays event lasts from 5-8 p.m. and they are shutting down a portion of Oak Street for the festivities! A portion of the proceeds from each Toms shoe sale will be donated to Arts in Education of the Gorge.

In other news, I recently finished illustrating a book called "The New Livestock Farmer" by Rebecca Thistlewaite. Chelsea Green Publishing will be releasing the book in the summer of 2015.

Another exciting bit of news is that I was recently accepted into the Emerging Printmakers Residency through Print Arts Northwest! The residency is a year-long program of mentorship, based out of Portland, that works to match artists who are beginning their careers with those who have been working professionally for some time. I will post details on our culminating group show as they are announced.
